Information stored by the app
FocusKind stores your session history, journal reflections, mood selections, saved presets, appearance preferences, achievements, and Spotify playlist link locally on your device. The app does not require a FocusKind account and does not send your focus history or journal entries to a FocusKind server.
Spotify connection
If you choose to connect Spotify, your Spotify display name is stored locally. Spotify access and refresh tokens are securely stored in the iPhone Keychain. FocusKind does not store a Spotify password or Spotify Client Secret. Playback is handled by Spotify and is subject to the Spotify Privacy Policy.
Notifications and widgets
With your permission, FocusKind may send timer and achievement notifications. You can disable these in iPhone Settings at any time. The home-screen widget shares limited focus totals with the main app through Apple’s App Group storage so it can display your progress.
AI Focus Coach
If you choose to use the premium AI Focus Coach, its responses are strictly limited to breathing techniques, focus, simple meditation, and gentle low-risk movement. It declines unrelated requests and does not provide medical, mental-health, individualized fitness, or emergency care. A safety exception directs users who describe immediate danger or self-harm to emergency resources. The message you type is sent through FocusKind infrastructure hosted by Cloudflare and processed by OpenAI to generate a response and screen unsafe content. Coach messages are not added to your journal or focus history, and FocusKind does not use them for advertising. OpenAI may retain API data temporarily for abuse monitoring under its applicable data controls. Do not enter journal entries, health records, passwords, financial details, or other sensitive personal information. Learn more in the OpenAI Privacy Policy and Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Exporting and deleting your data
You can export your journal entries using the sharing options available on your device. To erase your data, open FocusKind and go to Settings → Your Data → Delete All App Data, then confirm. This removes session history, journal entries, presets, preferences, achievements, widget totals, scheduled notifications, and stored Spotify credentials from the device.
Third-party services
When you use the AI Focus Coach, Spotify, or an iOS sharing destination, information you choose to send is governed by that service’s privacy practices. FocusKind does not sell your personal information.
Website support messages
If you use the support form on this website, the name, email address, topic, and message you provide are processed by Web3Forms so the message can be delivered to FocusKind support. Web3Forms states that submissions on its free plan are securely stored for 30 days. Please do not include sensitive health, financial, or account information. Learn more in the Web3Forms Privacy Policy.
Children’s privacy
FocusKind is not directed toward collecting personal information from children. Because the app stores its core data locally and does not operate user accounts, we do not knowingly collect children’s personal information on our servers.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the app evolves. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the latest version.
